Competitive Levels of Play
Division I – Competitive Players Age – 10-18
- Highest level of play in the state.
- Available for U11 and olderteams.
- Tryouts are held to identify players on the basis of talent and ability. Selected by the trainers.
- Teams qualify for the competition based on performance in the previous season or by their performance in the District Qualification Tournament held during the summer.
- Teams play a district-wide schedule which requires extensive travel and commitment.
- There is noplay timerequirement for players on a Division I team (except where noted by our club policies).
- Limitations are placed on the number of 9-year old or younger players allowed to play up to a higher age / level of play.
Super 2 – Competitive Players Age – 10-18
- Second highest level of play in the state.
- Available for U11 and olderteams.
- Tryouts are held to identify players on the basis of talent and ability. Selected by the trainers.
- Teams qualify for the competition based on performance in the previous season or by their performance in the District Qualification Tournament held during the summer.
- Teams play in a district-wide schedule which may require extensive travel and commitment.
- Trainers must make every effort to play every player on the team at least one-half of the game unless unable to do so due to a player's illness or for disciplinary reasons. In suchcases, the trainer must inform the referee and opposing trainer thata player will not be participating.
- Limitations are placed on thenumber of 9-year old or younger players allowed to play up to a higher age / level of play
Division 2 – Competitive Players Age – 10-18
- Introductory level of competitive play.
- Available for U11 and older teams.
- Tryouts are held to identify players on the basis of talent and ability. Selected by the trainers.
- Teams are generally scheduled with other Division II teams within their club or two or three clubs from the area limiting the amount of travel required.
- Trainers must make every effort to play every player on the team at least one-half of the game unless unable to do so due to a player's illness or for disciplinary reasons. In suchcases, the trainer must inform the referee and opposing coach thata player will not be participating.
- Limitations are placed on the number of 9-year old or younger players allowed to play up to a higher age.
Division 4 – Recreational Academy Players Age – 8 - 9
- Includes players ages U9 and U10.
- No selection / tryoutprocess is permitted - skill evaluations may be held in order to form teams in a fair and balanced method.
- The goal is to teach young players the basic techniques and skills in an environment that emphasizes fun and builds self-esteem.
- Games utilize the "small-sided" format that promotes more player involvement and touches on theball.
- Trainers must make every effort to play every player on the team at least one-half of the game unless unable to do so due to a player's illness or for disciplinary reasons. In suchcases, the coach must inform the referee and opposing trainer thata player will not be participating.
- Limitations are placed on the number of 9-year old or younger players allowed to play up to a higher age / level of play.
Rec Plus – Recreational Players Age – 6 – 7
- Skills training is made available toU8 and U7 Division IV players through the Texas National Skills Training Program (Rec Plus).
- Division IV teams and players participate in Rec Plus to facilitate their learning and help them prepare for the next level of competition (Recreational Academy)
